Ok! If you are a book reader How do u feel about Epilogues? I say Eff them. Some of you may like them, love the whole hunkey dory they lived happily ever after thing! You have to agree this is what EVERY SINGLE EPILOGUE IS! Have you ever read a epilogue where he saved her life & she cheats on him later? I don't think so. Maybe I'm just too much of a pessimist, but I'M NOT A FAN! I say it's better to wonder what happened in the end. You can end the book happy if you want, but I don't give a shit about their kids being friends forever & running through a field holding hands, & giggling together. Let me imagine what I want. Maybe they got a divorce? Maybe their kids fight constantly or hate each other. Maybe the kids hating each other drives the parents(besties for life) away from each other! All I'm sayin is I like to wonder.... I don't want to know. I have now decided to NEVER read the epilogue if a book has one. *C*

I honestly don't think I've ever read any epilogues and Lord knows I read a shitload of books :)
ReplyDeleteThe Eff is just me being a lazy abbreviator! I am rarely consistent in speaking/ my english or whatever. The saying it is a un-sensored blog is for my religious relatives that follow me on Facebook. To try to warn them away from this blog, they can look at my happy-go-lucky blog. It's usually fiction that has the happy ending epilogue. I love fiction, but hate the dreaded epilogue.

Sometimes I only read the epilogue. I feel like you can really pretty much glean everything important from the book, via the epilogue.
ReplyDeleteI agree w/ ya chan! Eff the epilogues!!! I was so pissed about the epilogues in those books especially. I want to imagine my own official ending. Like the other person in the love triangle comes back to cause a little drama. Or some important character gets killed off so there isn't a super peachy ending. Eff them!!!
